The Precious Blood of Christ

Do you all realize the value of what God has invested in you?  My sister-in-law this morning posted on Facebook "I am OUTRAGEOUSLY loved by my Lord," and that really sums up what I planned to post today.  God loves you so much that he invested the blood of his only begotten Son into you for your salvation.  Jesus said:
"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." John 15:13
Today I want to talk about how important you are to God. Think about even that statement for a minute.  In all the expanse of the universe and even among how many living things are alive today, you are important to God.  God thinks about you.  The Almighty God, Creator of the Universe, thinks about you
"Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows." Luke 12:6-7  NKJV
God put that love into action by sending His son to die for our sins in order to make that relationship with us possinble.  He invested in us the precious blood of His only begotten son.
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:5-9 NKJV
God's love is unconditional.  Jesus did not die because we did something great or that we somehow deserved it.  Jesus did not even die because it is us who wanted a relationship with God.  It was God reaching out to us.  Praise be to God that His love is not based on us!  Can you imagine if God waited for mankind to improve or for us to be worthy?  But God's love is so profound, so amazing, so powerful that He came to us.  And not only did He come to us, but He made us worthy with His own blood.  He took out sin upon Himself and paid its penalty to make us worthy to have the relationship He desires with us.  And even then He still is not done.

God has not only forgiven you, but He has cleansed you:
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NKJV
And once God washes you, He still is not done.  He saves you, he washes you, and He creates a new heart giving you a new and more abundant life:
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." John 10:10 NKJV
What's more, that abundance is not based on temporarily worldly possessions but on eternal treasures and the hope thereof.  Our abundance in this life is not in the material but in the immaterial.  It is an abundance of joy, love, peace, and hope.  It is the abundance that only comes through a relationship with God as it is a result of the abundance of His love.
"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know."  John 14:1-4 NKJV
Jesus is preparing a mansion for you! Jesus is preparing your eternity in Heaven.  How amazing is that?

And what's more, God will never give up on you.  He has invested the precious blood of His son into your salvation, how can He give up?  What is more valuable to a Father than the blood of His Son?  If God, having invested that so-precious Blood into your salvation, He will not just give up on you.
being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;  Philippians 1:6
God will complete what He started.  Sometimes that means chastening us, sometimes that means embracing us, but always in His perfect love and always with the goal of building that special relationship His desires with you.  Please don't ever think, Christian, that you have fallen so bad and sinned so grievously that God can not restore your relationship.  Remember what He invested in you.  Remember how important you are to God.

If you have fallen from sin, please don't ever run from God.  First of all, you can't.  Wherever you go, God is already there.  David wrote about trying to be apart from God in Psalm 139.  Jonah also tried running from God.  Adam and Eve tried hiding from God.  Not only is it impossible, but its wrong.  God wants you to turn to Him.  God wants to forgive you and to reestablish that relationship.  So if you sin, turn to God.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  1 John 1:9 NKJV
Think of how simple that is.  Think of how amazing the grace of God is.  No matter what you did or how far you fell, God will restore you!  Simply confess you sins.  God not say that confess any sin except that one really bad one you committed.  God did not say confess some of your sins.  No matter what you did, confess it and allow God to cleanse you.  And what will God cleanse you from?  Was it some unrighteousness?  Was it most unrighteousness?  Was it all unrighteousness except that one really bad one you did? No, He will cleanse of ALL unrighteousness.  All means all.  All means every.  All means that no matter what you did, God will forgive it and cleanse you of it.  That is how precious the blood of Christ is.

This is for those who do not know Jesus.  Please understand that all I spoke of today is available for you.  Jesus did not just die for my sins but for yours as well.  His blood was shed for you.  Your sins have been paid for.  If Jesus did not die for all, what hope can I have that he died for me?  I know that Jesus died for me, He has said as much in His word.  And because of that, I know he died for you.  I know he died for all.  No matter how badly you may have sin, no matter what wretched things you have done, no matter who you have hurt or how badly, and no matter what you said to and about God; He died for your sins.  That is how much He loves even you.  He has offered you, on golden platter, free for the taking, salvation.  He promises to forgive you of those sins, to cleanse you of your unrighteousness, to create in you a new and redeemed heart, and he offers you the hope and promise of an eternity with Him in Paradise.  The Bible says:
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  Romans 10:9 NKJV
That's it.  You don't have to do some great work to be saved.  You don't have to "clean up your act."  You don't have to make yourself worthy.  Works will come as a result of your salvation, God will cleanse you, and you will be made worthy through the Blood of Jesus.  You do not have to do a thing other than accept His gift, God does all the work.

Sadly, many will not answer that call and they will learn just how precious the Blood of Jesus is to God only from the perspective of Judgment:
Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people." It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:28-31 NKJV
Please, if you have not already, accept that free gift of salvation.  If you are in Christ and back-sliding, turn back to God and allow Him to restore you.  If you are in Christ, rejoice in the amazing love God has for you and never forget just how precious an investment God has made in you.  God loves you more than you can ever even understand.  Bask in that love.
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.  Ephesians 3:14-21 NKJV
