And God Looked Upon New York

Over the weekend, the state of New York joined the several others who have legalized what they call "gay marriage."  I say it is what they call it because marriage is an institution created by God to be a union of a man and a woman.  The union of a woman and a woman or a man and a man is not marriage at all, but an abomination.  They say the made the law so that it protects the rights of religious institutions, but the very fact that they call it marriage denies those rights.  Marriage is a religious institution that government co-opted and twisted into this detestable thing we have today.  The news reports this weekend were full of celebrations as though they have won some kind of victory.  They may have won a vote in some government organization, but there was no victory.  They can change man's laws, but God's laws remain unchanged.  They have have received blessing from man to practice their abomination, but they will received judgement from God lest they repent.  I think Isaiah reflects best what I am feeling today.
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!  Isaiah 5:20 NKJV
If that is not the truth of today I do not know what is.  People are celebrating the passing of a law allowing gay marriage as a good thing whereas people like me who oppose it are forced to defend their position.  We are called homophobic, bigots, hypocrites, hateful, and more.  I am not going to defend my position other than to say it is God's position as told through His word.  If you disagree with me, it is not me you need to deal with. To have those who rebel against God try to make me justify my stand for righteousness while they thumb their noses at God is disgusting.  I will be judged by no man for my stand for God's law, but they will be judged by God for rebelling against it.  I will not defend my position to them, but they will stand before God and have to explain theirs.  We do truly live in a world where good is called evil and evil is called good.  We live in a world where a stand for the acceptance of something that God hates is called loving and good and taking a stand for righteousness is called hateful and evil.  We live in a world where the acceptance of evil is legislated upon us offending millions but singing a Christmas Carol at Christmas time is seen as an infringement of Christian values on the two people who find offense.
Woe to [those who are] wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!  Isaiah 5:21 NKJV
For our purposes, this is woe to the legislature of the State of New York.  I do not know of the religious demographics of the New York state legislature.  I do imagine that as governments go, it is predominately those who associate as Christians, some Jewish members, and some agnostic members.  There is no way for this law to have passed if not for those who associate as Christian or Jewish voting in favor of this law.  I also know that gay marriage is strictly forbidden in both.  How a man or woman can think they know better than God and vote in favor for something they know that God rejects is the height of arrogance.  To say to God that you reject His institution of marriage and try to create your own is making yourself higher than the God you claim you serve.  You claim that faith should not determine how you govern.  If that be true, you have no faith.  If there is anything in your life that you claim to be outside God's jurisdiction, you have no god you serve, only yourself and your own ambitions.  You may be wise in your own site and prudent in your own eyes, but when you stand before God you will see just how foolish you are.
Woe unto [them that are] mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:  Isaiah 5:22 NKJV
And this is what we saw this weekend. We saw the gay "pride" celebrations full of rancid sin and drunkenness being practiced openly in the streets.  They celebrated unrighteousness unrighteously and the news media went right along with it talking about it as a good thing.  I have written about this before, but the fact is that even in the church we get caught up in celebrating unrighteousness.  Some churches have gone so far as to bless homosexual marriages, but then again so many churches allow the "Christian" label to be placed on just about any marriage, whether or not it has anything to do with being premised on God's plan for marriage.  We seem to have forgotten the fact that God hates sin.  When we celebrate any kind of sin, we are cheering for those things that sent Jesus to the cross.
Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!  Isaiah 5:23 NKJV
I have covered this earlier.  The New York state legislature and its governor has done this very thing.  They have justified the wicked in justifying homosexual marriage.  Society, falling for the lying propaganda of the homosexual movement, takes away the righteousness of the righteous by calling us evil for standing with God and opposing the justification of sin.
Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, And the flame consumes the chaff, [So] their root will be as rottenness, And their blossom will ascend like dust; Because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.   Isaiah 5:24 NKJV
Ultimately, this is what they have done.  They have rejected God.  They have cast Him aside for something called politics.  Their position in office is more important to them than their eternal position before God.  They are more interested in pleasing man than they are in offending God.  They have written laws in direct violation of the Law of God.  God judges nations and even parts of nations and any government elected by the people who passes laws that are an affront to God will bring the judgement of God upon the people they govern.  God will judge New York.  God will judge America.  Whether if it is at the return of Christ or before, the sins of our nation will be called to account.  We will not be able to pay that debt.

Some may call me a hypocrite because I am not perfect.  Some may call all Christians who disagree as hypocrites because their is sin in the church.  It is a sad reality that there is sin in our lives, but it does not change anything.  Whether or not I do right means nothing to what defines what right is.  Just as your sin does not justify my sin, my sin does not justify yours.  Beyond that, I hate the sin in my life, I do not throw a party celebrating it.  Yes, I may sin, but I confess my sin before God and I rejoice in that my sin is covered by the blood of Jesus.  You do not even admit your sin as sin.  You celebrate it, relish in it, and even blame God for it.  I ask God to forgive my sin and remove that sin from my heart.  You ask God to bless your sin and claim that He accepts it in your life.

Many mistake the patience of God with His acceptance.  Many wonder that if God is so against homosexual marriage, why did not fire come down from Heaven and consume the legislature or even the celebrating masses.  Many wonder why God has not acted in the many other places it was legalized.  Sadly, they are mistaking God's mercy and patience with His acceptance of their sin. They are mistaking God's desire for them to repent for His desire of the abomination that was passed.  The fact is that God has not judged this nation or even those states is because God is allowing for those that would support or practice such things to repent of their sin.  I did speak a lot of judgement today, but the fact is that God takes no pleasure in judgement.  Judgement is a last resort and only a result of our failure to repent.  Ultimately, it is not God who chooses judgement, but us who refuse the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.  God hates homosexuality.  God find homosexual marriage to be an abomination to His plan for marriage.  God will judge those sins, but God has allowed any who call on the name of the Lord to have that sin judged at Calvary and not on their own souls.  You may ask the question of how God can love you if He will judge you.  You may ask (wrongly believing it to be true) that if God made you that way how can He judge you for it?  First of all, God does not want to judge you but He will if you die in your sin. That is true for anyone not in Christ as we have all fallen short of God's standards.  Without Jesus, not just homosexuals, but all will stand before God for judgement.  It is only through Jesus that any of us can be saved.  God's love was expressed in that He sent His only begotten son to die for our sins.  It is up to us to accept or reject that love, but we certainly can not blame God for not loving us.  And, finally, God did not create you to be a homosexual.  Things may have happened in your life to lead you in that direction, but God wants so much more for you than that.  You say you can not change, and on your own that is true.  When you come to Jesus, the Holy Spirit will work through you to put away those sins and find that which is so much better.  Before you stands a choice that has eternal implications.  You can choose to die in your sins or to truly live through Jesus Christ.  I urge you, choose Jesus.  Choose life.
The Lord is not slack concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.  2 Peter 3:9 NKJV
