The Majesty of God as Revealed Through His Art

Today my wife and I finished two days of touring around the Grand Canyon.  We walked, took a shuttle bus, drove our rental car, and even flew over it in a helicopter all to take in as much of this natural wonder of the world as we can.  There are a few places in the park where there are plaques featuring Psalm 66:4 and some poetry.  It is quoted in the King James so I will also use the King James in referencing what I read.
All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing [to] thy name. Selah. Psalm 66:4 KJV
I realize that this verse is not literally speaking of the actual earth, but in terms of all the people of the earth.  That said, I could not help but to see the Grand Canyon in an entirely new way.  The Grand Canyon is a testimony to the majesty of God.  It is God's artwork and a gift for us.  It is not earth worshiping God, but it is a monument to the glory of God where one can not help himself but to stand before its beauty and worship God.  If you have never actually been to the Grand Canyon, what I am writing can have very little meaning to you.  It is indescribable in its beauty and vastness.

What is even more amazing is that despite how majestic and beautiful the Grand Canyon is, I have seen nothing yet.   The most amazingly beautiful things here on earth are but a glimpse of our eternal home to come.  I urge you all to see some of the amazing artwork of God that He has given to us.  What we try to recreate with our mortal hands, feeble tools, and imperfect mediums, God creates from floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, and the act of Creation itself.  Do not, though, look at them for what they are.  In other words, do not worship the art, but recognize how great the Artist is who created such things.  Do not look at them as God speaking to you, but look at them for what they speak of God.
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Psalm 19:1 NKJV
