Storm Comin'

Today is a day I have very little time so today I will be posting a thought more than a post.  Hurricane Irene is predicted to make landfall (or come really close to doing so) somewhere between North Carolina and New York.  It will be a massive storm and many will have to evacuate to save their lives.  We know that there is a storm coming and anyone in its path would be wise to make preparations.

Imagine, though, there is someone you know who in that storm's path and they have no way of knowing it is coming.  Some people choose not to have television or radio and some people just choose to live secluded lives.  No matter the reason, let us say that the only way we can be sure if they know a deadly storm is coming is if we let them know ourselves.  What would you do?  I am sure that you would make sure you called them in plenty of time to get out of its path.  You would warn them of the dangers coming because you care about your friend and want them to be out of harm's way.  You certainly could not call yourself a friend if you did not warn them and hoped that maybe someone else would let them know.  That would make you not only a horrible friend, but also a horrible person.  More than that, you would have to live with the knowledge for the rest of your life that you could have saved your friend.  I imagine that would be terrible to live with.

Well a storm is coming and I am not talking about hurricanes and earthquakes, but Judgement itself.  Whether the Lord tarries or returns, all will stand before Him in judgement.  Are you sure that all your friends and family know what kind of wrath is in store for them should they not accept Jesus?  Do they know of the judgement that would befall them should they die in their sins?  Do they even know the gospel at all?  If you are unsure of any of those questions, then what are you waiting for?  If you continue to wait, it may be too late.  If you continue to waste time, you may run out of it.  We know the storm of judgement is coming, but we have no idea when.  What would you feel should that "right" time you were waiting for never came and now they are spending eternity in Hell never knowing of the Jesus you procrastinated telling them.

Today is the day, let those people you know and love know about the Jesus who loves them even more.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, [even] to the end of the age." Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV
