Sharks Are Worrying About Global Warming and Other Dumb Things So-Called Smart People Say

On AccuWeather today, they have an article on some possibly new species of hybrid shark.  This is a quote from the article: "Researchers believe sharks may be crossbreeding to insure their survival as global warming causes ocean temperatures to rise."  Really?  Is ocean life really like Shark Tales or Finding Nemo?  Do fish have meetings and did sharks hold their own symposium on global warning and determine that cross breeding is their only defense against global warning?  Do sharks even know about global warming or climate change or global cooling or whatever the scare-Du-jour is regarding our environment?  Of course all of those ideas are as ridiculous as that quote from AccuWeather and then I starting thinking about science in general.  I have no problem with science, but I do take issue with many scientists.  There is nothing wrong with wanting to figure out the mechanics of the universe, but there is something very wrong when it is done with a bias.  The biases I am particularly interested in today are the ones that want to make money by spreading fear and the ones who begin with the premise of there being no God.  They are arrogant in their knowledge, but they lack any bit of wisdom. Sure they think they are wise, but God says differently.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their [own] craftiness"; and again, "The LORD knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile." 1 Corinthians 3:19-20 NKJV
Those so-called great scientists who look down upon the rest of the world thinking themselves to be better and smarter for rejecting God are not wise at all.  They may have more knowledge, but God looks down upon them and sees them for the fools they are.  For all the knowledge they think they have, they forget the one thing that can save them into eternal life.  When they stand before God, God will reveal them for the fools that they are.  In fact, this wisdom leads to a worship of the creation rather than the Creator.
For since the creation of the world His invisible [attributes] are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify [Him] as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man--and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.  Romans 1:20-23 NKJV
God is evident in the very fact that we exist.  He is evident in the fact that life exists.  He is evident in the natural beauty that surrounds us.  Many scientists reject the idea of God and look for "natural" causes for any and all of these things.  They build on the fallen idea of evolution.  Even the shark I mentioned earlier is being called "evolution in action."  Is it, though?  The sharks have done by chance the same thing that man has been doing on purpose for a long time.  Man has been breeding animals to elevate and minimize traits that are useful or not useful to their purposes.  That is why we have different breeds of dogs that all have their own distinct strengths and weaknesses.  This is not evolution the way science likes to describe evolution.  The final product is still a shark.  No new creature was created at all.  This happens all the time in animals, plants, fruits, and vegetables.  The basis of evolution is genetics and how mutations in DNA over long periods of time selects for certain traits while killing off other traits.  Given enough time, they say, this can lead to not just changes within a species but lead to entirely new species.  Of course, we have never seen this happen nor have we found any evidence of the plethora of transitional creatures in any kind of fossil record.  Furthermore, the man who established the theory of evolution knew absolutely nothing about genetics.  At the time when Charles Darwin lived, mankind had zero knowledge of DNA or a genetic code or anything like that.  He simply went by how animals looked.  This idea of trying to take God out of the equation is not only limited to evolution.  Science, in general, speaks of the origins of the universe, our planet, our sun, and everything else as the result of natural processes with no part played by God.  They ignore God in their research and turn themselves into ignorant fools when they do.  Science says they are not sure how or why the Big Bang happened or even if that is for sure what happened.  If they took a moment to read the Bible, they would know how everything came to be.  By ignoring the Bible, they will be lost eternally in their pet theories.

The other kind of scientist are the ones that spread fear.  Spreading fear, again, ignores God.  Remember the swine flu a couple of years ago?  Remember how scientists were on the news each night to tell us the ramifications of a pandemic of that kind of severe flu?  Remember how blown out of proportion it was?  Remember even further back to Y2K.  Computer scientists and mathematicians told us the world was going to basically end as we knew it.  Remember what happened? Nothing, that is, unless you count the people who made fortunes being Y2K consultants.  Now we have global warming or climate change or whatever else they call it.  Once again, mankind is put under fear of environmental apocalypse if something is not done now.  Right now, private groups and governments are funding scientists all around the world to tell us how scared we should be.  Global warming is a very big business.  The point I am making is that fear sells, and many scientists are more than happy to sell it.  If you do not think fear sells, then why do news programs almost always tease with scary headlines?  I can not tell you how many teases for weather reports I have heard where a stern anchorman says something like "Will Winter bring its fury this weekend?"  only to come back to a weatherman talking about sunny skies and mild temperatures.

We give scientists so much clout in the world.  Someone puts on a white coat and we think that what they are going to tell us the truth.  We somehow think they are better than everyone else and they are merely truth seekers with the knowledge and wisdom to speak authoritatively on whatever it is they are going to speak about.  Sadly, that is not true.  They are fallen sinful man trying to make a living just like everyone else.  Too many times they go to where the money is and not where the truth is and people eat up everything they have to say.  There is nothing wrong with science, but scientists need to return to a search for truth and not a search to ignore or attack the truth of God's word.  So the next time you hear some expert speak on something you should be scared of or another reason they think we should not believe in God, remember that despite all the fancy degrees and big words, they are fools.  Never forget, God's word trumps science, period.
The fool has said in his heart, "[There is] no God." They are corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good.  Psalm 14:1 NKJV
